sound festival: (L)AUTRE
In (L) AUTRE, lovemusic, a collective of musicians specialised in new music based in Strasbourg, delves into the concept of otherness – the state of being different and foreign to one’s identity, labelling individuals as subordinate and excluding them from social norms. (L) AUTRE begins with piece by Sasha Blondeau specially commissioned for the project, followed by works by Neil Luck, Ann Cleare, Bára Gísladóttir and Finbar Hosie.
This project was made possible through the generous support of Diaphonique, Franco-British fund for contemporary music, in partnership with the SACEM, the Friends of the French Institute Trust, the British Council, the Institut français, the Institut français du Royaume-Uni, the Centre National de la Musique, Creative Scotland , the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation and the Salabert Fondation.
