Scripting Dance 1: Balkan
Join Helen Lynch for some feet-on experience of Balkan Dancing and an insight into how these dances are constructed and can be written down to help you remember them. Easy dances from Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Romania and more. All welcome. No previous experience needed.
Helen Lynch started Balkan Dancing back in the '90s with Andrene Thompson. She found herself unexpectedly running a monthly Balkan Dance Workshop in 2016, which has continued ever since. In order to remember so many dances, Helen had to find/borrow from other teachers ways of writing down the steps and other information she needed. The music is lovely, the moves are easy to get the hang of and the company is friendly. No previous experience needed. Come along and learn some fun dances and some quick tricks to help you remember them afterwards.
