New from Old Jewellery Workshop
We all have odd pieces of costume jewellery, pearls and beads, some broken or dated pieces that fill ‘that drawer’! We never wear them but don’t want to throw them out…
Bring along all your old jewels and beads to the workshop and learn how to upcycle them into a new contemporary piece of jewellery. Jewellery designer, Anne Marquiss will demonstrate how to get the most out of your treasures. All tools, jewellery catches, stringing materials, chains and semi-precious beads will be provided to add new elements (in addition to your own pieces) in this one-of-a-kind workshop at the Barn. No prior skills are required, just some imagination to create your own re-imagined statement jewellery.
Anne Marquiss is a jeweller and tutor working in Aberdeenshire, from her bothy workshop. She designs and makes silver, statement jewellery, creating elegant forms that are individual and easy to wear. Her work is influenced by contemporary architecture and Scandinavian Design, using etching and oxidisation to develop spontaneous surface decoration.
