HIVE : Playful Oor Monsters
Let’s make a unique cardboard friend & make it famous! Join us for this creative block wherewe will be using a variety of materials to make a 2D or 3D Character. Participants will then bring their colourful creature to life and celebrate its imaginary adventures through storytelling, posters and zinemaking.
Philip Thompson is one half of “Oor Monsters”, having created this creative project fourteen years ago with his wife, Gabrielle Reith aka “Small Stories”. Using low-cost, recycled materials, Phil & Gabi have been using Oor Monsters to explore play, imagination, political, mental health & environmental issues in a highly creative way. Phil also runs Digital Maker, delivering cutting edge STEAM education in Scotland and became a Micro:Bit Champion in 2024 for the Micro:Bit Educational Foundation.
