Walking

From mystical Bennachie that holds such sway in Aberdonians’ hearts and munros to be bagged, such as Lochnagar or Mount Keen - there are legends to be scaled in Aberdeenshire.

Our countryside is vast with ancient forests, great estates and heathery moors waiting to be discovered by walkers.

Inland be stirred by the mountainous and river views along the 41mile-long Deeside Way (you can walk or cycle it), running from the centre of Aberdeen to Ballater in the Cairngorms National Park.

Stride out along the wide expansive sands that stretch for miles along the Aberdeenshire coast and walk through some of the most picturesque coastal fishing villages in Scotland.

Whether you choose to take on the mountains, sandy dunes or ancient forests you’ll be embraced by rugged countryside and coastal views.

Please always follow the Scottish Outdoor Access code.
