Parks & Gardens

Aberdeen is home to award-winning parks and gardens providing masses of beautiful green space, floral views, activities and cafés to grab a refreshing bite.

Duthie Park is a popular hub for runners, cyclists and dog walkers thanks to the looping circuit within the 44 acres of the park. Here you’ll also find the David Welsh Winter Gardens, one of Europe’s largest indoor gardens and Scotland’s third most visited. Boasting a beautiful floral paradise with many rare and exotic plants on show from all around the world along with the largest collection of cacti and succulents in UK – there’s even a talking cactus!

On the outskirts of Aberdeen you’ll find Hazlehead Park bursting with woodland walks, football pitches, a golf course, putting green and a puzzling maze. There’s a children’s play area and pets corner on the grounds too with farmyard animals, reptiles and even alpacas.

Check out Seaton Park too, where at its south gates stand the fortified towers of St Machar's Cathedral in Old Aberdeen. There are many colourful areas in the park from the flowerbeds to the walled garden beside the old stables. From here you can even kayak in the nearby River Don during the summer months.
