Leisure cycling

With open peaceful roads, ancient forests, historic railway lines and long golden beaches there’s every chance to get our on your bike in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

Visit quaint coastal villages along the Aberdeenshire coast when you go on a costal cycling route. Along the same 165 miles of coast you have the choice of cycling past impressive castle ruins and basking in great Scottish estates and the grounds of famous manor houses.

From a city start to travelling deep in the heart of the countryside, where Royal Deeside meets the Cairngorms National Park, be stirred by the mountainous and river views along the 41mile-long Deeside Way. Most of this route is off road with slight gradients ideal for a comfortable family ride. For adventure seekers the route also has steeper more challenging paths.

City cycling brings its own rewards too; through historic old towns and along the mile-long beach – you might spot our urban dolphins playing at the harbour mouth.

Visit the National Cycle Network website to find your cycling route.
