Famous faces, laugh-out-loud moments and ninja card stunts!

55 events. 11 days. 27 venues. Get ready to laugh out loud when Aberdeen Comedy Festival returns to the city from 5-15 October 2017.

The programme has just landed with a range of multi-bill shows, solos, improvisation comedy, kids events, films and even workshops! Here’s my five not to miss events at Aberdeen Comedy Festival this year:

1. Launch night: Craig Campbell and guests

The festival is set to kick off 10 days of comedy moments with a famous face – “the Canadian Billy Connolly”… Craig is best known for his appearances on Russell Howard’s Good News and Michael MacIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow!

Date: 5 October 2017. Time: 8pm. Venue: The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen

2. Card Ninja

Comedy with a twist! A riotous and dazzling display of comedy and card stunts (the comedian even uses the cards as ninja weapons!). This show is ideal for anyone who’s ever been a little bit ninja…

Date: 8 October 2017. Time: 1.30pm. Venue: Park Inn by Radisson.

3. Comedy Masterclass with Stu Who?

Like making people laugh? Learn how to do it like a professional comedian with this four-hour Aberdeen Comedy Festival workshop! You will learn the skill of comedy, writing, stagecraft and tricks from one of the UK’s most experienced comedians.

Date: 14 October 2017. Time: 1pm. Venue: Bridge Street Social Club, Aberdeen

4. Kids Comedy Hour

There’s nothing better than the laughter of children… so let the kids enjoy an hour of (kid friendly!) comedy with two big kids who love stand-up comedy! Inspired info: one of these comedians even once performed as a human-sized piece of snot!

Date: 14 October 2017. Time: 2pm. Venue: Belmont Filmhouse, Aberdeen

5. Wayne’s World

If you’ve never set eyes on this 90’s wacky pop-culture comedy then you’re missing out! Starring Mike Myres this film has to be one of my favourite comedies of all time. See it for yourself during the festival this October!

Date: 10 October 2017. Time: 8.45pm. Venue: Belmont Filmhouse, Aberdeen

With tickets available from as little as £5, there’s every opportunity to make a whole week of your Aberdeen Comedy Festival experience! And if you’re looking for a bite to eat before a show get foodie inspiration at www.visitabdn.com/food-and-drink.
