Findlater Castle

Findlater Castle, a once extensive fortress first recorded in 1246, can be found along the Banffshire Coast on a tiny peninsula with a 50-foot drop to the sea below.  Serving as a significant reminder of Scotland’s deep-rooted history, Findlater Castle now exists in picturesque ruins with many tourists visiting the spot for its breathtaking views and scenic nature. Please note Findlater Castle is located off narrow coastal paths and cliff edges which can be dangerous, we would advise you to keep to the path and stay clear from cliff edges. 

Duff House

Upon your travels, don’t miss out on the spectacular  Duff House, a grand Georgian mansion built in the 1700s by William Adam. Now home to a prestigious art collection from the National Galleries of Scotland, Duff House presents itself as a prime location for both it’s stunning architectural exterior and mesmerising artwork inside.

The Salmon Bothy Museum

If history and heritage is what you’re after, then The Salmon Bothy Museum is the perfect spot! The former working Salmon House has been restored and now includes a museum which showcases displays, artefacts and information about Portsoy’s harbours, the industry and trade and the salmon fishing operations.

Banff Links Beach

Head to Banff Links Beach, an ideal spot along the coast that not only offers serene walking routes and sandy beaches, but acts as a key place to spot some dolphins.  Located next door to a thrilling children’s playpark and Banff Links Caravan Park, this spot is ideal for families in need of a break at anytime of the year.
