Bonfire night celebrations: unmissable fireworks in Aberdeenshire

Remember, remember the 5th of November! Guy Fawkes Night is fast approaching—can you believe it’s that time of year already?
Whether you’re exploring the starry skies in the city or hunting for the perfect burst of colour in Aberdeenshire, we’ve got you covered. Here are some great locations throughout the region set to light up the skies and deliver a dazzling display of fantastic fireworks.

Aberdeen Esplanade – Tuesday, 5th November
Hosted by Aberdeen City Council, the Aberdeen Esplanade firework display is set to return this Bonfire Night! A local favourite, it sees thousands of people wrapping up warm to witness the sky’s spectacular show. This year’s display will begin at 19:30.
*The display will be launched from the end of the Port of Aberdeen’s North Pier due to ongoing development work at the beach.*
Banchory – Saturday, 2nd November
Feel the excitement in the air at King George V Park in Banchory as the sky comes to life! To fuel you for the night ahead why not head to Banchory Lodge Hotel for the ultimate Bonfire Night Supper! The hotel's cosy Sitooterie is an ideal spot for viewing the firework display, with a special supper on offer from 16:00 – 17:30.

Peterhead – Saturday, 2nd November & Tuesday, 5th November
Join Buchanhaven Harbour TRUST for their annual bonfire celebration on 2nd of November. Held at Buchanhaven Harbour, enjoy not just fantastic fireworks but also a BBQ with hot and cold drinks throughout the night. The firework display will begin around 19:45/20:00.
On 5th November, head to Gadle Braes and spend your Bonfire Night, where you’ll be surrounded by good food, music from North East Radio Scotland and a fabulous fireworks performance. The bonfire will be lit at approximately 19:30.
Stonehaven – Sunday, 3rd November
Join in on the fun in Stonehaven, where Mineralwell Park will transform into a firework frenzy fun fair. Made for the entire family, the event includes on-site catering, rides, and music all night. The fun starts at 17:30, with the firework display beginning at 19:00.
Ellon – Saturday, 26th October
Head to Ellon for the exhilarating ‘Sparks in Gordon Park’ bonfire display. With funfair rides, local foods offerings and light-up toys on sale for the little ones, there's plenty to enjoy. Gates open at 17:00 with the firework display beginning at 19:30.
