Easter’s usually all about eggs - rolling and eating, real and chocolate – and getting together with family and friends to celebrate, but this year we’re mixing it up and suggesting a weekend (Friday 14-Sunday 16 April) with a twist…
North Hop
For lovers of craft beer; you’re in for a real treat with this one. The highly anticipated North Hop returns over the Easter weekend. With live music, craft beer, even hay bales and loads street food, treating your friends to this event will really get you those extra ‘friend points’!
Nuart Festival
If you’re more into the arts, than the drinking, our brand new festival Nuart is well worth a visit! From talks and film screenings to workshops and walking tours, Nuart is showcasing the best artists through innovative art installations and exhibitions across Aberdeen city centre. Sweet Treats
You won’t miss your chocolate fix though; we’ve thought about that too. Good things always come in sugar coated packages and this is one for everyone to enjoy. Sample some of our sweet treats with stylish afternoon teas, famous ice cream parlours (even a whippy at the beach), freshly baked cakes (try a buttery) and even freakshakes!
Easter Egg Hunt
If this doesn’t really float your boat and instead you’re looking for a traditional way to spend your Easter weekend, take the family to some of our top Easter weekend events including egg rolling at Haddo House and Leith Hall.
Egg Rolling
Or how about rolling eggs down a sand dune? Balmedie Beach has to be one of the best places for this! If you go, don’t miss a chance for a stunning coastal walk with views for miles across sand and sea – even as far as Aberdeen Beach; it’s the perfect topping to your chilled Easter weekend if you ask us.
And as much as we all love chocolate, Easter does mean a great time for the kids. The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses are hosting Easter craft events and egg painting on Thursday 6th & 13th April - so you can paint your eggs before you roll them!
