All Things Festival
25 February 2016
There’s so much to do in Aberdeen and the surrounding area. After visiting Spectra Festival earlier this year there was no doubt in my mind that I would be visiting many more festivals. Here’s my festival to-do list for 2016:
Aberdeen Jazz Festival – 16-20 March 2016
This is an annual ritual for me. I go every year and it continues to amaze and inspire me. This year I look forward to the extended Jazz on the Green outdoor event.
Midsummer Beer Happening – 16-18 June 2016
The Midsummer Beer Happening celebrates with brilliant brews, fantastic food and magnificent music. It’s held in the seaside town of Stonehaven – beautiful!
Scottish Traditional Boat Festival – 15-26 June 2016
Located in one of the most stunning villages in Aberdeenshire, this festival can’t be missed. Portsoy is a charming port village and plays host to the highly anticipated festival each year.
True North – 23-25 September 2016
Last year the headline act was Tom Odell so I can’t wait to find out this year’s line-up. The singer songwriter festival engages with both up and coming artists as well as some of the biggest acts in the UK.
sound Festival – 20 October – 6 November 2016
If you’re looking for something new then it’s got to be sound Festival. From contemporary classical to electro-acoustic, improvised, experimental and jazz music, the festival explores a wide range of musical styles.
There are many more festivals and events to be explored in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Keep an eye on our what’s on section or visit aberdeenfestivals.com for more information.
