The Aberdeen Jazz Festival is set to return to the Granite City from March 13 to 23, marking its 22nd year with an incredible lineup of global talent, innovative performances, and community-focused events throughout Aberdeen.
Occurring over 11 days, The Aberdeen Jazz Festival will feature over 30 events across nine venues, highlighting everything from soulful vocalists to outstanding ensembles.
Family-Friendly Atmosphere
The festival is designed to be inclusive, making it an ideal experience for visitors wanting to bring the whole family along! Special performances and activities specifically for children ensure that even the youngest audience members can enjoy the magic of jazz and creates memories for all!
Accessibility
The festival is committed to ensuring that all venues are accessible to everyone. Most venues, including the Anatomy Rooms, Cowdray Hall, Fountainhall Church at the Cross, Great Western Community Centre (GWCC), Margaret Clyne Court, Middlefield Community Project, The Blue Lamp, and The Lemon Tree, are fully accessible. Bon Accord Baths is only partially accessible; however, assistance is available upon request.
Attendees are encouraged to get in touch with the festival organisers beforehand to discuss specific accessibility needs, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Highlights of the Festival
This year's festival provides a rich and diverse celebration of jazz, with notable performances from Jazz FM’s ‘UK Jazz Act of the Year’ Georgia Cécile on March 14, performing tracks from her new EP "City Girl," and the Neil Cowley Trio returning after a seven-year hiatus to perform music from their album "Entity."
Additionally, the festival will host unique collaborations, such as the Aberdeen Jazz Festival Orchestra, led by Richard Michael, uniting top local ensembles in a thrilling fusion of jazz and traditional Scottish fiddling.
