Cairnwell
In a location synonymous with Royal Deeside, the Cairnwell ascent is found just south of Braemar - a thriving village that is encircled by mountains, valleys, and woodlands. If you're looking for a place to relax after this 3.61km grind, then try the welcoming Pavilion Café at the Braemar Highland Games Centre for coffee, lunch, or an afternoon tea.
You'll ride south on this challenge that grows in an elevation from 484m to 673m. The top is just past the Glenshee Ski Centre, home to the summit finish of the Tour of Britain’s opening stage in 2022.
As of April 2022, this Aberdeenshire Ascent has been conquered by over 1,900 cyclists - will you be next?
