Gemma is a proper country girl brought up in Keith, 50 miles North of Aberdeen which is also known as teuchter town, but deep down always knew she was a city girl. Gemma moved to Aberdeen during her final year of study at RGU in 2012.
From as young as 13 Gemma knew she wanted to pursue a career in tourism, however imagined herself more as an air-hostess for British Airways. At the age of 17 she went on to study Travel and Tourism at Aberdeen College and then decided to study International Tourism Management at RGU. During her time of study, Gemma also worked for VisitScotland as a peak seasonal at the Huntly Information Centre for 3 years and then went on to work in the Aberdeen Information centre for a further 2 years.
After 5 years with VisitScotland and graduating with an Honours degree, Gemma felt it was time to further her career in tourism so when the position came up with VisitAberdeenshire she jumped at the chance and is now working hard to promote Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Gemma lives in the city centre of Aberdeen which is big change from being brought up in the small town. In her spare time Gemma enjoys meeting with friends for dinner or cinema, planning trips and of course every girls interest, shopping!
